The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers a diverse lifestyle across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and the other emirates, with beaches, desert landscapes, shopping, dining and major international events. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, construction, facilities management and technology provide many job opportunities. UAE culture combines Islamic traditions with a highly international population; modest dress and respect for local customs are appreciated. Lifestyle can be fast-paced and modern, although housing and transport costs vary considerably by emirate. Employers normally arrange or sponsor employment visas, medical checks, Emirates ID processing and work permits, subject to UAE regulations. UAE Nationals may receive additional career support through Emiratisation programmes. Before relocating, confirm the salary package, accommodation or allowance, transport, insurance, annual leave and flight benefits. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are well connected, while smaller emirates may offer a quieter and more affordable environment.
