About the employer

Shangri-La is an internationally recognised luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other major destinations. The brand is known for warm Asian hospitality, high service standards and distinctive properties in city and resort locations. Shangri-La hotels typically offer accommodation, restaurants, bars, banqueting, wellness facilities and business services. In the United Arab Emirates, the group operates luxury properties serving leisure travellers, corporate guests, families and large events. Employees generally work in a multicultural environment with structured hotel operations, guest-focused service expectations and opportunities to develop across departments. This role supports the food and beverage function while contributing to the organisation and smooth daily administration of a premium hospitality operation.

Working in United Arab Emirates

Although the UAE is not an island, it offers a coastal lifestyle across seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi providing the largest hospitality job markets. Opportunities are available in hotels, restaurants, tourism, aviation, events, retail and luxury services, while UAE Nationals may benefit from Emiratisation programmes. The culture combines Islamic traditions, strong family values and a highly international workforce. English is widely used, though Arabic is valuable. Lifestyle options range from beaches, malls and desert activities to cultural sites and outdoor recreation. Employers normally arrange or sponsor work visas, subject to medical checks, Emirates ID registration and labour approval. Relocating employees should confirm accommodation, transport, insurance, flights and visa costs in the offer. Summers are extremely hot, and living expenses can be high, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Public behaviour, dress and alcohol regulations should be respected.
