Working in Indonesia

Indonesia offers opportunities in luxury hotels, resorts, residences, tourism, engineering, security, wellness and guest services, especially in Bali, Java, Lombok and the Riau Islands. Bali is popular for its international hospitality market, beaches, temples, arts and active expatriate community, although housing and traffic can be costly in areas such as Canggu, Seminyak and Ubud. Indonesian culture values respect, community, modest dress in religious settings and courteous communication. Lifestyle options range from urban living in Jakarta to quieter coastal or island communities. Foreign employees generally need employer sponsorship and an approved work authorization, commonly supported through a KITAS process; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers normally guide applications, medical checks and immigration paperwork. Candidates should confirm salary, accommodation, transport, insurance, leave and relocation support before accepting an offer.
