Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. It offers extensive opportunities in luxury hotels, tourism, restaurants, events, aviation, retail, and business services. The culture combines Islamic traditions, Emirati hospitality, and a highly international workforce; respectful clothing and conduct are expected, particularly during Ramadan. Lifestyle options range from beaches, desert excursions, and shopping to museums, nightlife, and outdoor activities. Most expatriate employees enter on an employer-sponsored residence and work visa. Employers generally arrange medical checks, Emirates ID processing, and labour documentation, while benefits may include accommodation, transport, insurance, and flights. Candidates should confirm contract terms, probation rules, housing arrangements, and family sponsorship eligibility before relocating. Living costs vary significantly, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi usually more expensive than other emirates.
