About the employer

Shangri-La is a Hong Kong-founded luxury hospitality group operating hotels, resorts and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international markets. The brand is recognised for its warm Asian hospitality, high service standards and portfolio of luxury and premium properties under names including Shangri-La, Kerry, JEN and Traders. Its hotels serve leisure and business travellers and commonly include restaurants, meeting facilities, spas and other guest experiences. Shangri-La’s corporate teams support commercial performance, technology, marketing, operations and guest experience across the group. Working for the company can provide exposure to a multinational hotel environment, regional projects and established luxury-brand practices. The Hong Kong office is particularly relevant to the group’s heritage and strategic operations, making it a suitable base for professionals in digital marketing, e-commerce, revenue, sales and hospitality development.

Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a compact, energetic international city built around Victoria Harbour, with Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories connected by an efficient rail, ferry and bus network. Job opportunities are strong in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, retail, marketing and regional corporate services. The culture blends Cantonese traditions with international influences; Cantonese is widely spoken, while English is common in business. Lifestyle options range from busy urban neighbourhoods, excellent restaurants and nightlife to beaches, hiking trails and quieter outlying islands. Housing can be expensive, especially near Central and popular districts, although transport makes commuting from areas such as Kowloon or the New Territories practical. Overseas professionals normally need an employment visa sponsored by their employer, with approval based on qualifications, relevant experience and a genuine local role. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, a bank account, health coverage and tax registration, and budget carefully for rent and daily expenses.
