The Sales & Marketing Coordinator supports the hotel’s commercial team with sales administration, marketing campaigns, promotional materials, social media or digital content, client communication, events and performance reporting. Candidates are generally expected to have a diploma or degree in marketing, business, hospitality or a related field, along with relevant coordination or hotel experience. Strong organisation, communication, writing and computer skills are important, especially proficiency with Microsoft Office and customer databases. Experience in luxury hospitality is advantageous. Fluency in English is normally essential, while French and other languages are useful in Mauritius. The successful candidate should be proactive, detail-oriented, commercially aware and comfortable working with different departments and external partners.
Shangri-La Group is an international luxury hospitality company originating in Asia and operating hotels, resorts and residences across the world. Its properties are known for personalised service, distinctive local experiences and high standards of guest care. In Mauritius, Shangri-La Le Touessrok Resort & Spa is a premium beachfront resort on the island’s east coast, offering accommodation, restaurants, leisure facilities, spa services and access to nearby islands and golf experiences. The resort serves international leisure travellers, families, couples, groups and events. Employees typically work in a multicultural environment where service quality, teamwork, discretion and attention to detail are highly valued. A Sales & Marketing Coordinator would support the property’s efforts to attract guests, maintain business relationships, promote experiences and strengthen the resort’s market position.
Mauritius offers opportunities in hospitality, tourism, sales, finance, technology, education, healthcare and offshore business services. Resort roles are especially common, although competition can be strong and experience is often preferred. The island has a multicultural society shaped by Indian, African, European and Chinese heritage, with English widely used in business and French commonly spoken in daily life. Lifestyle highlights include beaches, hiking, water sports, warm weather and a relaxed community atmosphere, though imported goods and accommodation can be expensive. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit or Occupation Permit before taking employment; the employer usually supports the application, and requirements depend on salary, qualifications and role. Candidates should confirm current immigration rules with Mauritius authorities and the prospective employer. Relocation planning should include housing, healthcare, transport, banking and tax arrangements.
