About the employer

Shangri-La Group is an international luxury hospitality company founded in Hong Kong and known for its hotels, resorts and serviced residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other destinations. Its properties focus on refined accommodation, attentive service, dining, wellness and memorable guest experiences. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on Asian hospitality, professional development and thoughtful service standards. In Hong Kong, the group operates established luxury hotels serving business travellers, leisure guests, events and local customers. Employees commonly work in a multicultural environment with structured hotel procedures, training and opportunities to progress across departments or properties. The company’s wellness and guest-services roles require consistent presentation, discretion, safety awareness and a genuine willingness to help guests.

Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers strong employment opportunities in hotels, restaurants, retail, finance, technology, healthcare and tourism. Hospitality jobs are concentrated on Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and major resort areas, with international hotels often seeking staff for guest services, housekeeping, food and beverage, wellness and engineering. Life is fast-paced and convenient, combining dense urban neighbourhoods, excellent public transport, international dining and vibrant Cantonese culture with beaches, hiking trails and outlying islands. Rent can be expensive, especially near central business districts, so many workers live in Kowloon or the New Territories and commute. Foreign nationals generally need a suitable employment visa sponsored by an employer; applicants should confirm eligibility, qualifications and documentation with Hong Kong Immigration. New arrivals should budget for accommodation deposits, transport, healthcare and daily expenses. Cantonese is valuable, while English is widely used in hotels and international workplaces.
