Knowledge of Hong Kong accounting practices and relevant professional qualifications, such as HKICPA or ACCA, may be advantageous.
Shangri-La Group is a leading luxury hospitality company founded in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts, and related properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international markets. Its brands are known for refined service, comfortable accommodation, distinctive dining, and strong attention to guest experience. Shangri-La’s culture places emphasis on genuine hospitality, teamwork, integrity, and care for colleagues and guests. In Hong Kong, the group operates prominent luxury hotels and provides career opportunities across rooms, food and beverage, finance, engineering, sales, and corporate functions. Employees may benefit from structured training, international exposure, staff accommodation or dining benefits depending on the property, and opportunities for internal progression. Exact responsibilities, benefits, and salary depend on the hotel, grade, experience, and employment terms stated in the individual vacancy.
Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, accounting, retail, technology, logistics, and professional services. The city is fast-paced and international, with Cantonese, English, and Mandarin widely used in business and daily life. Its culture blends Chinese traditions with global influences, and residents enjoy excellent restaurants, efficient public transport, shopping, hiking, beaches, and a vibrant urban lifestyle. Housing is expensive, particularly on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon, so many workers share apartments or live in the New Territories for lower rents. Foreign professionals normally require an employment visa sponsored by their employer, with approval based on qualifications, a confirmed job, and market-level pay. Dependants may usually apply for dependant visas. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, banking, insurance, and an identity card after approval. Public transport is reliable, but workdays can be demanding and living space is often limited.
