The company operates premium properties under the Shangri-La brand and focuses on attentive service, comfort, Asian hospitality and personalised guest experiences. Its hotels typically provide accommodation, restaurants, bars, meeting facilities, wellness services and extensive business or leisure amenities. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on operational standards, colleague development, guest safety and responsible business practices. Working for the company can provide experience in a multicultural luxury-hotel environment, with opportunities to collaborate across departments and develop within a large international hospitality organisation.

Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, property management, aviation, finance, retail, technology and professional services. Hotel professionals can find roles in safety, engineering, security, food and beverage, rooms, events and management, particularly in Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon and the airport area. The culture is international but strongly influenced by Cantonese traditions, with efficient public transport, busy neighbourhoods, excellent dining and easy access to hiking, beaches and outlying islands. Housing is expensive, so candidates should compare accommodation and transport costs carefully. Foreign professionals generally need an employment visa sponsored by an eligible employer, normally supported by qualifications, relevant experience and a confirmed job offer. Dependants may usually apply for dependant visas. Employers often assist with documentation, medical coverage and relocation guidance, but arrangements vary. Cantonese is valuable for local communication, while English is widely used in business and luxury hotels.
