About the employer

Shangri-La is a Hong Kong-founded luxury hospitality group operating hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other international destinations. The company is known for refined accommodation, high-quality dining, thoughtful guest service and a strong emphasis on Asian hospitality. Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts employs colleagues across front office, food and beverage, housekeeping, culinary, wellness, engineering and corporate functions. Its Hong Kong properties serve business travellers, local residents and international visitors through restaurants, bars, meeting facilities and leisure services. Employees generally work in a structured, multicultural environment with opportunities for professional development, internal training and career progression within the wider group.

Working in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a fast-paced international city built around Victoria Harbour, with excellent public transport, diverse restaurants, major shopping districts and easy access to hiking trails, beaches and outlying islands. Hospitality opportunities are available in luxury hotels, restaurants, clubs, cruise services and event venues, particularly in Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, Causeway Bay and resort areas. The culture combines Cantonese traditions with international influences; Cantonese and English are widely used, while Mandarin is also valuable. Rent and daily expenses can be high, so shared accommodation is common for hospitality workers. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored employment visa before starting work, and the role must meet immigration requirements. Employers may provide meals, medical coverage, uniforms, service charge or housing assistance, so these benefits should be confirmed before relocation.
