About the employer

Shangri-La is a major luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, with hotels, resorts and other properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and Africa. Its Philippine portfolio includes well-known city hotels and island resorts, serving business travellers, holidaymakers and international events. The group is recognised for refined service, strong guest care and its Asian-inspired hospitality culture. Security leaders work closely with front office, engineering, housekeeping, food and beverage and management teams to maintain a safe, welcoming environment. Employment packages may include service-charge participation, meals, uniforms, medical coverage, staff discounts and training, although benefits vary by property and contract. Career progression can include supervisory and departmental security management roles, particularly for employees who demonstrate sound judgement, leadership, emergency-response capability and consistent service standards.

Working in Philippines

The Philippines offers hotel, resort and security opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Davao and other tourist destinations. Hospitality employers commonly value English communication, customer service, practical security experience and recognised safety training. Filipino culture is warm, family-oriented and respectful, with English widely used in workplaces. Island living can provide beaches, outdoor activities and a relaxed lifestyle, but transport, healthcare, utilities and internet quality vary considerably outside major centres. Costs are generally lower than in many Western countries, although popular resort areas can be expensive. Foreign applicants normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, while Filipino citizens need standard employment documentation. Candidates should confirm salary, accommodation, service charge, meals, transport, medical cover and contract terms before relocating. Weather is tropical, with a dry season and a wet or typhoon season depending on the region.
