Working in Singapore

Singapore offers opportunities in aviation, logistics, food services, technology, finance, healthcare, engineering and tourism. English is widely used at work, and the culture is multicultural, structured and generally punctual, with strong emphasis on safety and performance. The lifestyle is convenient: public transport is efficient, healthcare is high quality, and the city has extensive shopping, dining, parks and entertainment. Accommodation can be expensive, especially near the central area, so interns often consider shared rooms or housing near MRT stations. International interns must hold an appropriate pass; employers typically arrange the Training Employment Pass or another eligible work authorisation, depending on nationality, course and internship duration. Check current requirements with Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower. Singapore is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain. Relocation is straightforward but budgeting for rent, transport, food and deposits is important.
