This six-month temporary role supports DHL’s import and export operations in the Spanish Islands. Typical duties include receiving and checking shipments, preparing customs and transport documentation, scanning and sorting packages, coordinating collections and deliveries, updating shipment systems, and resolving routine discrepancies. Candidates should be organized, physically reliable, customer-focused, and comfortable working to deadlines in a busy logistics environment. Basic computer skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow safety and operational procedures are expected. Experience in freight forwarding, warehousing, customs, or parcel operations is useful. Spanish is generally required, while English and knowledge of import/export documentation are advantageous. Shift flexibility, teamwork, and a valid right to work in Spain will normally be required.
DHL is a global logistics and express delivery company operating in more than 220 countries and territories. It provides international express shipping, freight transportation, supply-chain management, e-commerce logistics, customs support, and parcel delivery services. DHL is part of DHL Group, whose major divisions include DHL Express, DHL Global Forwarding, DHL Supply Chain, DHL eCommerce, and DHL Freight. The company serves businesses and consumers across industries, connecting manufacturers, retailers, and individuals through air, road, sea, and warehouse networks. Its operations depend on reliable shipment handling, accurate documentation, technology, security, and strong customer service. In Spain, DHL operates across mainland and island locations, supporting domestic distribution and international trade. Temporary import/export operators contribute directly to the accurate and timely movement of shipments through these networks.
Spain’s islands mainly refer to the Balearic Islands, including Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera, and the Canary Islands, including Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura. Logistics, tourism, hospitality, retail, aviation, healthcare, and warehousing provide many employment opportunities, with seasonal demand especially strong in tourism and parcel delivery. Island life offers a relaxed outdoor lifestyle, mild weather, beaches, and distinctive local food and traditions, although housing can be expensive in major tourist areas. Public transport is strongest in larger cities, while a car may be useful for warehouse or airport-based work. EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens can generally work in Spain after completing registration requirements. Non-EU applicants usually need employer sponsorship and a valid work permit before starting. Confirm the island, contract, accommodation, and relocation costs before accepting an offer.
