The Senior Sales Executive is expected to generate new business, manage customer relationships, promote UOB products and meet individual and team sales targets. Typical requirements include a diploma or degree, relevant sales experience, strong communication and negotiation skills, and confidence working with customers in person or through outbound channels. Experience in banking, consumer finance, cards, loans or related financial products is advantageous. The successful candidate should be target-driven, self-motivated, ethical and comfortable working in a competitive environment. They will also need to maintain accurate customer records, follow internal procedures and comply with applicable banking and regulatory requirements.
United Overseas Bank (UOB) is a major Singapore-based financial group with operations across Southeast Asia, including Malaysia. The bank provides personal and business banking, credit cards, loans, wealth management, commercial banking and corporate financial services. UOB Malaysia serves individuals, small and medium-sized enterprises, large corporations and institutional clients through branches and digital channels. Following its acquisition of Citigroup’s consumer banking business in Malaysia, UOB has continued expanding its customer base and product offering. The organisation places emphasis on customer service, responsible banking, digital transformation, risk management and long-term relationships. Its Malaysian operations include sales, branch banking, operations, technology, compliance and relationship-management career opportunities.
Malaysia offers varied career opportunities in banking, technology, manufacturing, tourism, logistics and shared services, especially in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Penang and Johor Bahru. Its culture blends Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions, with diverse food, festivals and languages. Daily life is generally affordable compared with Singapore, although housing and commuting costs are higher in major cities. Malaysia has beaches and islands such as Langkawi, Penang, Perhentian and Tioman, while the peninsula and Borneo provide different lifestyles and landscapes. Foreign employees normally need an employment pass sponsored by their employer; requirements depend on role, salary and nationality. Before relocating, arrange a valid job offer, pass approval, accommodation, healthcare coverage and local banking. Learning basic Malay and understanding workplace customs can make settling in easier.
