The Air Freight SCM Specialist supports end-to-end supply-chain activities for air-freight customers, including shipment coordination, inventory or order visibility, documentation, reporting, and service-performance management. Candidates typically need a diploma or degree in logistics, supply-chain management, business, or a related discipline, along with experience in freight forwarding, air cargo, customer service, or supply-chain operations. Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures, Incoterms, customs documentation, and logistics systems is advantageous. DHL expects candidates to be organised, analytical, commercially aware, and comfortable communicating with customers, airlines, suppliers, and internal teams. The role also requires attention to detail, problem-solving ability, teamwork, and proficiency in English and common office or transport-management software.
DHL is a global logistics and supply-chain company operating across international express delivery, air and ocean freight, road transportation, contract logistics, e-commerce, and specialised business services. It is part of DHL Group and serves multinational companies, small businesses, and consumers in more than 220 countries and territories. In Malaysia, DHL supports importers, exporters, manufacturers, retailers, technology companies, and healthcare organisations through transport, warehousing, customs, and supply-chain solutions. The company is known for its international network, structured operating processes, technology-enabled shipment visibility, and focus on service quality and compliance. Employees commonly work in multicultural teams and may coordinate with overseas offices, airlines, customs authorities, suppliers, and major customers. Career paths can develop across freight operations, customer solutions, commercial management, procurement, data, and broader supply-chain leadership.
Malaysia offers opportunities in logistics, manufacturing, technology, shared services, tourism, healthcare, and aviation. Kuala Lumpur and Selangor are the main corporate and distribution hubs, while Penang is strong in electronics and manufacturing. For island living, Penang combines beaches, heritage, dining, and good connectivity; Langkawi offers a quieter resort lifestyle; Sabah and Sarawak provide access to Borneo’s nature, diving, and distinctive local cultures. Malaysian life is generally affordable compared with many international business centres, with excellent food, tropical weather, private healthcare, and convenient urban transport, although traffic and humidity can be challenging. English is widely used in workplaces, alongside Malay and Chinese languages. Foreign employees normally require employer-sponsored permission, such as an Employment Pass, before starting work. Dependants may need separate passes, and relocation should be arranged with the employer and Malaysian immigration authorities.
