DHL is a global logistics and supply chain company operating across express delivery, freight forwarding, warehousing, e-commerce logistics, and supply chain management. As part of DHL Group, it serves businesses and consumers in more than 220 countries and territories. The company also relies heavily on digital platforms, automation, data, cybersecurity, and cloud technology to manage international shipments and complex logistics networks. In Malaysia, DHL has operations, service centres, technology functions, and shared-support teams serving both local and global customers. Employees typically work in an international environment with structured processes, compliance requirements, and opportunities to collaborate across regions. A DevOps Engineer may support systems used by internal teams, customers, or logistics operations, helping improve availability, delivery speed, monitoring, and operational resilience.
Malaysia offers varied relocation options, from busy mainland cities to island-based lifestyles. Most technology jobs are concentrated in Kuala Lumpur, Cyberjaya, Johor Bahru, and Penang, especially George Town and Bayan Lepas. Penang combines a strong technology sector, established expatriate community, good food, and access to beaches. Langkawi is quieter and attractive for lifestyle, but has fewer professional opportunities. Sabah and Sarawak on Borneo offer nature, lower-density living, and growing business centres, though specialist tech roles are less abundant. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous influences; English is widely used in professional workplaces. Living costs are generally moderate, although central Kuala Lumpur and popular Penang areas are more expensive. Foreign employees normally need an Employment Pass sponsored by their employer, with approval before starting work. Relocating staff should confirm visa, tax, healthcare, shift-transport, and accommodation arrangements with DHL.
