DHL is seeking a Class 1 Night Driver to safely and efficiently complete overnight delivery and collection routes in the United Kingdom. Applicants will normally need a valid Category C+E licence, Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), digital tachograph card and a clean, safe driving record. Previous professional HGV driving experience is preferred, along with good knowledge of UK roads and transport regulations. The role requires reliability, punctuality, physical fitness, and the ability to work independently during night shifts. Candidates are expected to complete vehicle checks, manage delivery paperwork, protect shipments, provide professional customer service and follow DHL’s health, safety and security procedures. Flexibility regarding working hours and occasional weekends may also be required.
DHL is a leading global logistics and supply chain company operating in more than 220 countries and territories. It provides express parcel delivery, freight transportation, contract logistics, warehousing, e-commerce fulfilment and specialist supply chain services. DHL is part of DHL Group and serves businesses across sectors including retail, manufacturing, healthcare, technology and automotive. In the United Kingdom, the company employs drivers, warehouse teams, operations specialists, engineers, customer service staff and logistics professionals across a broad national network. The organisation places strong emphasis on safety, service quality, sustainability and operational efficiency. For transport employees, DHL typically provides structured procedures, modern fleet operations, compliance training and opportunities to progress into supervisory or wider logistics roles. Pay and benefits vary by site, shift pattern, experience and collective agreements.
The United Kingdom offers substantial opportunities in logistics, road transport, warehousing, manufacturing, healthcare, technology and professional services, particularly around London, the Midlands, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow and major ports. British culture is generally polite, diverse and multicultural, with a strong pub, sports and music tradition. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to quieter coastal and rural communities, although housing and transport costs can be high. The UK has four distinct seasons and extensive rail and road networks. Visa requirements depend on nationality and role; non-UK and non-Irish citizens usually need appropriate immigration permission, such as a Skilled Worker visa, and the employer must normally be an approved sponsor. Commercial driving roles may have specific eligibility rules, so applicants should check current government guidance. Relocating requires arranging accommodation, a National Insurance number, banking, healthcare access and, where relevant, licence exchange or professional driver recognition.
