The Tooling Controller is responsible for managing, issuing, inspecting, tracking and maintaining tools and equipment used in DHL aviation or engineering operations. Typical requirements include experience in tool control, stores, inventory or aircraft maintenance support; strong organisational and record-keeping skills; confidence using inventory or computerised maintenance systems; and an understanding of calibration, inspection and health and safety procedures. The successful candidate is expected to maintain accurate records, ensure tools are available when needed, identify missing or unserviceable equipment, coordinate calibration and repairs, and follow DHL and aviation quality standards. Flexibility, reliability, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with engineers and operational teams are likely to be important.
DHL is a global logistics and supply chain company operating across more than 220 countries and territories. It is part of DHL Group and provides international express delivery, freight forwarding, contract logistics, e-commerce fulfilment and specialist transport services. DHL also supports the aviation and aerospace sectors through aircraft operations, maintenance logistics, parts distribution and engineering-related supply chain services. In the United Kingdom, the company employs people across airports, depots, warehouses, offices and customer sites. Its working environment often combines strict operational procedures with a strong focus on safety, service quality, compliance and continuous improvement. Employees may benefit from structured training, internal career development and the opportunity to work within an internationally recognised logistics network. Specific benefits, shift patterns and progression opportunities vary by business unit and location.
The United Kingdom offers job opportunities in logistics, aviation, warehousing, engineering, technology, healthcare, finance and professional services. DHL roles are commonly based near major airports, distribution centres and industrial areas, where transport links and shift work are important considerations. British workplace culture generally values punctuality, clear communication, personal responsibility and respect for safety procedures. Lifestyle varies from busy cities to quieter coastal and rural communities, with good public services, cultural attractions and extensive rail and road networks. Living costs are highest in London and the southeast, while many northern regions, Wales, Scotland and parts of England are more affordable. Applicants who are not British or Irish citizens normally need a valid work visa; eligibility depends on the role, salary, occupation and employer sponsorship. Candidates should confirm sponsorship directly with DHL and check current UK government immigration rules before relocating.
