Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company, commonly known as Metrobank, is one of the Philippines’ major universal banks. Founded in 1962, it provides services to individuals, businesses, corporations, institutions, and government-related organizations. Its offerings include deposits, consumer lending, credit cards, wealth management, corporate and commercial banking, treasury, investment banking, and digital financial services. Metrobank operates through a nationwide branch and ATM network, supported by digital platforms and specialized banking teams. The bank is part of the GT Capital Holdings group and is recognized as an established employer in the Philippine financial-services sector. Employees typically work in a structured, regulated environment with opportunities to develop expertise in relationship management, credit, operations, risk, sales, and technology. The Taguig area is a major business hub, offering access to corporate clients and strong transport, retail, and residential infrastructure.
The Philippines is an archipelago with major employment centers in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Metro Manila, including Taguig’s Bonifacio Global City, offers the widest opportunities in banking, technology, outsourcing, finance, retail, and multinational services. Cebu is a strong alternative for shared services, tourism, and technology, while Davao has growing opportunities in business services, agriculture, and regional finance. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented, English-friendly, and community focused. Urban life offers modern malls, restaurants, healthcare, and lively entertainment, although traffic and rainy-season disruptions can be challenging. Island destinations provide beaches, diving, hiking, and a slower lifestyle. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work visa or permit, while short-term visitors cannot legally work. Relocating employees should arrange employment authorization, housing, health insurance, tax registration, and local banking before arrival. Living costs vary considerably by city and neighborhood.
