Metrobank, formally Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company, is one of the Philippines' largest universal banks. Established in 1962, it provides services to individual customers, businesses, corporations, institutional clients, and affluent investors. Its offerings include deposits, lending, payments, credit cards, wealth management, investment banking, treasury services, and digital banking. Metrobank operates through a nationwide branch and ATM network, supported by corporate offices and electronic channels. The bank is part of the Metrobank Group and serves both Philippine and international customers through selected overseas operations and correspondent relationships. As a major employer, Metrobank offers careers across banking operations, technology, risk, finance, customer service, relationship management, and capital markets. Its Taguig-based roles are generally connected to the bank's principal corporate and financial-services operations.
The Philippines offers opportunities in banking, shared services, technology, finance, healthcare, tourism, education, and business-process outsourcing, especially in Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao. Filipino workplace culture is generally friendly, relationship-oriented, respectful of seniority, and collaborative; English is widely used professionally. Lifestyle ranges from fast-paced urban living in Taguig and Makati to more relaxed coastal and provincial communities. Housing, transport, and daily costs vary considerably, with Metro Manila usually being the most expensive. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, commonly an Alien Employment Permit together with a 9(g) pre-arranged employment visa. Relocating employees should arrange a valid passport, authenticated qualifications where required, medical or immigration documents, and secure accommodation before arrival. Local laws, tax registration, and immigration rules should be checked with the employer and Philippine authorities.
