About the employer

Royal Mail Group is one of the United Kingdom’s best-known postal and delivery organisations. Its principal businesses include Royal Mail, which provides universal postal services across the UK, and international parcel and logistics operations associated with GLS. The group operates a large network of processing centres, delivery offices, vehicles and local postmen and women serving households and businesses nationwide. Royal Mail handles letters, parcels and time-sensitive deliveries, increasingly focusing on e-commerce and parcel growth as traditional letter volumes decline. The organisation employs a substantial nationwide workforce and offers roles in delivery, transport, engineering, operations, customer service, technology and management. Benefits and employment terms vary by role and contract, but may include holiday entitlement, pension arrangements, staff discounts and structured training. Royal Mail Group’s work is central to connecting communities and supporting businesses throughout the UK.

Working in United Kingdom

The United Kingdom offers opportunities in logistics, parcel delivery, warehousing, healthcare, construction, technology, hospitality and professional services, with London and major cities generally providing the widest choice. British culture values punctuality, personal space, politeness and workplace professionalism, while communities are diverse and multicultural. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to quieter coastal and rural areas; public transport is extensive, though a car may be useful for delivery work. Housing and living costs are highest in London and the southeast. Citizens of Ireland can live and work under the Common Travel Area. Other nationals normally need permission before working, such as a visa linked to an eligible sponsored occupation. Postal delivery driver roles typically do not qualify for Skilled Worker sponsorship, so applicants should confirm eligibility before accepting an offer. Employers usually require the right to work, identity documents and, for driving roles, a valid licence and suitable insurance.
