This internship supports Global Human Resources (GHR) operations at MAS Holdings. Typical responsibilities may include maintaining employee records, assisting with HR reports and documentation, coordinating employee queries, supporting onboarding and offboarding activities, and helping improve routine HR processes. Applicants are generally expected to be undergraduates or recent graduates studying human resources, business administration, management, or a related discipline. Strong communication, organization, confidentiality, attention to detail, and basic Microsoft Office or data-handling skills are important. The successful candidate should be willing to learn, work collaboratively, manage administrative tasks accurately, and handle sensitive employee information professionally.
MAS Holdings is one of South Asia’s leading apparel and textile companies, headquartered in Sri Lanka. The group designs, develops, manufactures, and supplies clothing and sportswear for internationally recognized brands. Its operations span apparel manufacturing, textile innovation, design, supply chain services, and technology, with facilities and offices across several countries. MAS is known for its focus on ethical manufacturing, sustainability, product innovation, and employee development. The company employs a large international workforce and works with global customers in areas such as intimate apparel, activewear, swimwear, and performance clothing. Its human resources function supports a diverse workforce, organizational development, employee engagement, compliance, and business operations across the group.
Sri Lanka offers opportunities in apparel and manufacturing, information technology, tourism, finance, logistics, healthcare, education, and business services. Colombo is the main commercial center, while Kandy, Galle, Katunayake, and other regional cities also provide employment. The culture combines South Asian traditions with Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim, and colonial influences. People generally value hospitality, family, religious customs, and respectful communication. Living costs are moderate, though Colombo is more expensive than smaller cities. The island provides beaches, mountains, wildlife parks, historic cities, and reliable domestic transport, although traffic can be heavy. Foreign nationals normally need an appropriate employment visa or residence approval arranged with employer support; a tourist visa does not permit regular employment. Interns should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, insurance, taxes, and work authorization before relocating. English is widely used in professional workplaces, while Sinhala and Tamil are the main local languages.
