The Human Resources Intern supports daily HR operations, including recruitment coordination, employee records, onboarding, training administration, and general colleague enquiries. Candidates should be enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant hospitality, business, or human resources program, with good communication, organisation, and computer skills. Previous hotel or administrative experience is helpful but may not be essential. The successful candidate is expected to be professional, discreet, dependable, and comfortable working in a multicultural hotel environment. Strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to handle confidential information are important. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and an interest in hospitality people management would be valuable.
Marriott International is one of the world’s largest hospitality companies, operating a broad portfolio of hotels and resorts across luxury, premium, and select-service brands. Its properties serve business and leisure travellers in destinations around the globe and provide opportunities in hotel operations, guest services, food and beverage, sales, finance, engineering, and human resources. Dubai Marriott Harbour Hotel & Suites is a long-stay property located in Dubai Marina, offering spacious suites, dining facilities, leisure amenities, and views of the city and marina. As part of Marriott, the hotel follows established service, training, and professional development standards. Employees work with colleagues and guests from many nationalities, making communication, teamwork, cultural awareness, and a genuine interest in hospitality particularly important. Marriott also promotes internal career development through learning programs and opportunities across its international network.
The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest range of hospitality, tourism, retail, aviation, finance, and technology jobs. The country is highly international, and English is widely used at work, although Arabic is the official language. Life is modern and convenient, with excellent transport, shopping, beaches, restaurants, and year-round sunshine; summers are extremely hot and humid. Employers normally arrange an employment or internship visa, work permit, and medical checks, so candidates should confirm sponsorship, insurance, accommodation, meals, transport, and any fees before accepting an offer. Relocating employees should budget carefully for rent, deposits, utilities, and transport, as Dubai can be expensive. Respect for local customs, modest public behaviour, and awareness of religious practices are important. The UAE has no personal income tax on employment earnings, but living costs and contract conditions vary considerably.
