Working in Maldives

Maldives resort islands offer opportunities in hospitality, spa and wellness, food and beverage, housekeeping, marine activities, engineering, finance and management. The culture combines Islamic traditions, South Asian influences and a strong island community spirit. Resort life is social but structured, with staff accommodation, shared facilities and limited access to local towns depending on the island. Employees usually enjoy beaches, snorkeling, diving and water sports during free time, while alcohol is restricted to licensed resort areas. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and entry approval; the employer typically coordinates the process, medical checks and travel arrangements. A valid passport, employment contract and required qualifications are important. Relocation involves adapting to heat, humidity, remote living, irregular shifts and distance from family. Confirm salary, service charge, accommodation, meals, insurance, leave, flights and visa responsibilities before accepting an offer.
