Working in Cayman Islands

The Cayman Islands offer employment opportunities in tourism, hospitality, finance, retail, construction, healthcare and professional services. Grand Cayman has the largest job market and the most developed infrastructure, while Cayman Brac and Little Cayman provide quieter lifestyles with fewer vacancies. The culture blends Caribbean traditions with British influence and a highly international expatriate community. Residents enjoy warm weather, beaches, snorkeling, diving, boating and a generally safe lifestyle, although housing, groceries and transportation can be expensive. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit before starting employment; approval is subject to immigration rules, qualifications and local labor requirements. Employers may provide accommodation, airfare, meals or health benefits, but these should be confirmed in writing. Candidates should verify salary, deductions, accommodation, insurance, contract length and permit responsibility before relocating. A valid passport, police clearance and medical documentation may also be required.
