EY, formerly Ernst & Young, is a global professional-services organization operating across assurance, consulting, strategy and transactions, and tax. Its teams help businesses and public-sector organizations manage financial reporting, improve performance, respond to regulation, adopt technology and address complex commercial challenges. EY Singapore serves local and international clients across industries including financial services, consumer products, technology, healthcare and infrastructure. The firm’s Financial Services Office focuses on banks, insurers, investment managers, private-equity firms and other financial institutions. EY is known for combining technical expertise with industry knowledge and multidisciplinary consulting. Employees typically work in collaborative, client-facing environments and may support regional or international engagements. The organization also places emphasis on professional development, structured learning, inclusion, ethics and building capabilities in areas such as digital transformation, sustainability, risk and tax.
Singapore is a major regional hub for finance, consulting, technology, logistics and professional services, creating opportunities for tax specialists, accountants, analysts, auditors and consultants. The culture is multicultural, efficient and generally business-oriented, with English widely used in workplaces. Life offers excellent public transport, reliable infrastructure, diverse food, shopping, green spaces and convenient access to nearby Asian destinations. Housing and dining can be expensive, especially in central areas, although public transport and hawker centres help manage daily costs. Foreign professionals normally need an employer-sponsored work pass; the Employment Pass is commonly used for qualifying professional roles, subject to salary and Ministry of Manpower requirements. Employers usually assist with applications and relocation paperwork. Candidates should budget for rent, deposits, insurance and initial living expenses, and confirm pass eligibility, benefits and tax treatment before moving. Singapore’s compact size makes commuting and settling in relatively straightforward.
