Working in Indonesia

Bali is Indonesia’s most established tourism island and offers opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, wellness, events, villas and travel services, particularly in Ubud, Seminyak, Canggu, Nusa Dua and Sanur. Balinese culture is strongly shaped by Hindu traditions, temple ceremonies, music, dance and community life, while hospitality workplaces are generally multicultural and internationally focused. The lifestyle combines warm weather, beaches, rice terraces and outdoor activities with busy traffic and seasonal tourism demands. Foreign workers normally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work permit and limited-stay visa; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers may assist with immigration, accommodation, health cover and relocation, but arrangements should be confirmed in writing. New arrivals should budget for housing, transport, insurance and document processing, and should respect local customs, religious sites and environmental responsibilities.
