Working in Australia

Australia offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, events and tourism, especially in the Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and regional resort destinations. The Gold Coast has a warm climate, beaches, theme parks and an active outdoor lifestyle, with generally high living costs but strong tourism employment. Australian workplace culture is informal, respectful and team-oriented, while punctuality, safety and fair work practices are important. Most overseas workers need a visa, such as a Working Holiday visa, employer-sponsored visa or another skilled or temporary work visa; eligibility depends on nationality, occupation and experience. Check current requirements with the Australian Department of Home Affairs. Before relocating, budget for rent, transport, health cover and arrival costs. Gold Coast public transport is practical, but a car can help for nearby areas and irregular hospitality shifts.
