About the employer

Sharq Village & Spa, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel, is a luxury beachfront resort in Doha, Qatar, operated under the Marriott International portfolio. Designed around traditional Qatari architecture and hospitality, the property combines private or resort-style accommodation with restaurants, meeting and event facilities, beach access and a large spa. It serves international leisure travelers, business guests, groups and high-end celebrations. As a Ritz-Carlton property, it places strong emphasis on personalized service, attention to detail, discretion and memorable guest experiences. Employees typically work in a multicultural environment and follow Marriott’s service, ethical and professional standards. The hotel’s location near Doha’s waterfront and major attractions makes it an appealing base for hospitality professionals seeking experience in luxury hotels, destination sales and the rapidly developing Qatar tourism market.

Working in Qatar

Qatar is a peninsula rather than an island, with Doha as its main business and lifestyle center. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, events, food and beverage, sales and customer-service jobs are common, particularly in luxury hotels and resorts. The culture blends strong Islamic and Qatari traditions with a large international population. Modest dress, respectful behavior and sensitivity during Ramadan are important. Life is modern and convenient, with excellent malls, restaurants, beaches, museums and desert excursions, although summers are extremely hot. Most foreign employees enter on an employer-sponsored work visa; the company normally arranges residency, medical checks and related permits after arrival. Confirm whether accommodation, transport, flights, insurance and gratuity are included before accepting an offer. Doha has a high cost of living, but Qatar generally does not impose personal income tax on employment earnings.
