Working in Spain Islands

Spain’s main island destinations include Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Hospitality creates many opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, spas, events, guest services and tourism, with seasonal recruitment especially strong from spring through autumn. The culture blends relaxed Mediterranean living, local festivals, excellent food and strong regional traditions. Lifestyle varies from quieter beaches and outdoor activities to busy nightlife, particularly in Ibiza and parts of Tenerife and Mallorca. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work in Spain with registration and a local identification number. Non-EU nationals generally need a work permit or an eligible internship or student visa arranged before starting. Relocation costs, accommodation availability and transport should be checked carefully, as rents rise sharply in popular resort areas. Spanish is useful, while English and other European languages are valued in tourism.
