Working in Indonesia

Bali offers extensive opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, wellness, tourism, events, and guest services, especially around Nusa Dua, Kuta, Seminyak, Ubud, and Denpasar. The culture blends Hindu traditions, temple ceremonies, community life, arts, and welcoming hospitality; respectful dress and behavior are important. Lifestyle can be relaxed and outdoors-oriented, with beaches, surfing, fitness, markets, and a large expatriate community, although traffic and seasonal tourism pressures are common. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate Indonesian immigration status before starting employment; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers often assist with documentation, but candidates should confirm visa sponsorship, accommodation, insurance, taxes, and service-charge arrangements. Living costs vary considerably by area, and learning basic Indonesian phrases is helpful. Indonesia also offers hospitality careers in Lombok, Java, and other major tourist islands.
