Marriott International is one of the world’s largest hospitality companies, operating a broad portfolio of hotels and resorts under brands such as Marriott Hotels, The Ritz-Carlton, Sheraton, Westin and W Hotels. The resort offers accommodation, restaurants, leisure facilities, spa services, events and recreational activities for both international and local guests. Sri Lanka offers employment opportunities in hospitality, tourism, information technology, education, healthcare, construction, finance and international services. Resort jobs are concentrated along the southern, western and eastern coasts, with Colombo providing the widest range of professional roles. The culture is welcoming and diverse, shaped by Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim and other communities, with Buddhism playing an important role. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to relaxed beach or hill-country communities; living costs are generally lower than in many Western countries, although imported goods can be expensive. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work or employment visa and should confirm requirements with Sri Lankan immigration authorities before travelling. Employers may assist with permits, accommodation, meals, transport and relocation, but these benefits vary. Candidates should verify salary, service charge, housing, medical cover, contract terms and visa responsibility before accepting an offer.
