Working in Thailand

Thailand offers opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, finance, wellness, diving, and guest services, especially in Bangkok, Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi, and Pattaya. Bangkok is not an island, but it is the country’s main business and hospitality hub; popular island destinations include Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Chang, and Koh Tao. Thai culture values politeness, respect for elders, modest dress at temples, and the customary wai greeting. Lifestyle ranges from busy urban living to relaxed beach communities, with generally affordable food and transport, although resort areas can be expensive. Foreign interns normally need an appropriate Non-Immigrant visa, work authorization, and supporting documents arranged with the employer or university; requirements can change. Confirm eligibility with Marriott, the Thai embassy, and local authorities before traveling. Housing, insurance, transport, and emergency funds should be planned in advance.
