Working in Singapore

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city-state and a major regional hub for hospitality, tourism, marketing, finance and technology. Job opportunities are strongest in hotels, restaurants, events, airlines, retail, corporate services and creative operations. The culture is multicultural, efficient and generally professional, with English widely used at work. Lifestyle options range from excellent public transport, shopping and dining to parks, beaches and a busy arts scene. Costs are high, particularly rent, so many newcomers share accommodation or live outside the central districts. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass; the Employment Pass is commonly used for professional roles, while an S Pass may apply to eligible mid-skilled positions, subject to current salary and quota rules. Secure a confirmed offer before relocating, and check pass eligibility, housing costs, healthcare arrangements and tax obligations with the employer.
