Working in Bahrain

Bahrain is a compact Gulf island country with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, retail, aviation, finance, construction and professional services. Manama and nearby areas offer a modern lifestyle with malls, restaurants, beaches, cultural sites and an active expatriate community. The culture combines Arab and Islamic traditions with a relatively open, international atmosphere; modest dress and respect for local customs are important. Summers are extremely hot, while winters are pleasant. Employers normally arrange a work visa and residence permit after hiring, with medical checks and document attestation often required. Many hotel packages include accommodation, meals, transport, medical coverage and annual air tickets, but applicants should confirm every benefit in writing. Bahrain uses the Bahraini dinar, and living costs are generally moderate compared with some neighboring Gulf cities. Housing, transport and sponsorship arrangements should be checked before relocation.
