About the employer

Le Méridien Khao Lak Resort & Spa is an upscale beachfront resort in Phang Nga, Thailand, operated under the Le Méridien brand of Marriott International. The property combines contemporary European-inspired design with the relaxed atmosphere of Thailand’s Andaman coast. It serves leisure travelers, families, groups and international guests through accommodation, restaurants, event facilities, swimming pools and spa services. As part of Marriott International, the resort benefits from global hospitality standards, structured training and career opportunities across a worldwide hotel network. Employees typically work in a multicultural environment focused on guest satisfaction, service quality, safety and operational efficiency. Its location near Khao Lak’s beaches and national parks makes it particularly suited to hospitality professionals who enjoy resort living, outdoor activities and a quieter coastal lifestyle.

Working in Thailand

Thailand offers hospitality opportunities across Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi, Koh Chang, Koh Phi Phi and the Khao Lak mainland, especially in resorts, restaurants, diving centers, spas and tourism services. Thai culture values politeness, respect, patience and maintaining harmony; learning basic Thai is useful and appreciated. Island life is relaxed and outdoors-oriented, with beaches, markets, temples, seafood and water activities, although transport, healthcare and shopping can be more limited than in Bangkok. Salaries may be modest compared with Western countries, but resorts sometimes provide accommodation, meals, service charge and transport. Foreign workers generally need an employer-sponsored Non-Immigrant B visa and a Thai work permit before legally working. Employers usually assist with documentation, but requirements can change, so confirm details with the company and a Thai embassy. Budget for deposits, insurance, permits and occasional travel to larger towns or Bangkok.
