Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but Dubai is a coastal city with beaches, waterfront resorts and easy access to islands such as Palm Jumeirah. Hospitality, tourism, facilities management, construction, aviation, retail and technology offer many employment opportunities. The culture combines Emirati traditions with a highly international workforce; respectful dress, punctuality and sensitivity toward local customs are important. Dubai has a modern, active lifestyle, excellent shopping, dining and public transport, although rent and living costs can be high. Most foreign employees need an employer-sponsored residence visa and work permit; medical checks and Emirates ID registration are normally required. Employers often provide accommodation, transport, meals, medical insurance or annual flights, depending on the contract. Candidates should verify salary, benefits, working hours and visa sponsorship before relocating, and budget for deposits and initial living expenses.
