The Wedding Manager plans and delivers weddings and related social events at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur. Responsibilities include consulting with couples, preparing proposals and contracts, coordinating menus, décor, suppliers and timelines, managing budgets, and working closely with banquet, culinary, front office and outside vendors. Candidates are expected to have hotel events, catering or wedding-planning experience, strong communication and negotiation skills, excellent organization, commercial awareness and attention to detail. The role requires confidence in dealing with demanding clients, the ability to manage several events at once, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays. Familiarity with Marriott standards and event systems is advantageous.
Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur is an upscale hotel located in the city centre, close to KL Sentral and major business, shopping and cultural attractions. It operates under Marriott International, one of the world's largest hospitality companies, and combines contemporary European-inspired design with Malaysian influences. The hotel offers guest rooms and suites, restaurants, lounges, meeting facilities, banquet spaces and wedding services. Its events team supports conferences, celebrations and large social occasions, making service quality, creativity and coordination central to the operation. Employees generally work within Marriott's global service standards and may receive access to training, staff benefits, career development and opportunities to transfer within the wider hotel group, subject to company policy and eligibility.
Malaysia offers varied hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Sabah and Sarawak, especially in hotels, resorts, events, restaurants and tourism. Kuala Lumpur provides the strongest year-round corporate and wedding market, while island destinations such as Langkawi and Penang offer a more relaxed coastal lifestyle. The culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous influences, and English is widely used in hotels. Living costs are moderate compared with many international cities, though central Kuala Lumpur housing is more expensive. Foreign hires normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, with approval handled by the company before starting work; dependants may require separate passes. Candidates should confirm salary, service charge, accommodation, insurance, leave and relocation support, and arrange suitable housing and transport before arrival.
