Malaysia offers strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, restaurants, events, engineering, technology, healthcare, and manufacturing, especially in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, Langkawi, Sabah, and Sarawak. The culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, Indigenous, and international influences; English is widely used in business and hospitality. Lifestyle costs are generally moderate, though central Kuala Lumpur is more expensive than smaller towns. Malaysia also offers beaches and islands such as Langkawi, Perhentian, Tioman, and the Sabah islands, while Borneo provides rainforests and outdoor adventure. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass or another approved work permit before starting employment. The employer usually handles immigration documentation, and requirements vary by nationality, salary, and position. Secure accommodation, healthcare coverage, and written confirmation of benefits before relocating. A valid passport, medical checks, and certified qualifications may also be required.
