The Event Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering conferences, weddings, meetings and other functions at Le Méridien Putrajaya. Candidates should have relevant experience in hotel events, banqueting, hospitality or a related field, together with strong organizational, communication and customer-service skills. The role requires coordinating with clients, culinary, banquet, sales and operations teams; preparing event details and schedules; monitoring setup and service standards; managing guest expectations; and resolving issues promptly. Candidates are expected to be professional, commercially aware, detail-oriented and comfortable working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays. Knowledge of local events, strong negotiation ability and proficiency in English are valuable, while additional languages may be advantageous.
Le Méridien Putrajaya is an upscale hotel in Malaysia’s planned administrative capital, known for its contemporary European-inspired style, comfortable guest rooms and extensive meeting and event facilities. The property serves business travelers, government visitors, leisure guests, weddings and corporate functions. It operates under the Le Méridien brand, part of Marriott International, one of the world’s largest hospitality companies. Marriott manages a broad portfolio of international hotel brands and provides structured standards, training and career opportunities across its global properties. At Le Méridien Putrajaya, an Event Manager works closely with sales, banquets, culinary, front office and other operational departments to deliver well-organized events and a consistent guest experience. The hotel’s location near Putrajaya’s government offices, attractions and transport connections makes event coordination and relationship management particularly important.
Malaysia is not limited to islands: this role is based in Putrajaya, a modern inland city near Kuala Lumpur, rather than on a resort island. Hospitality opportunities are available across hotels, restaurants, resorts, events, tourism, aviation and business services. Popular island destinations such as Langkawi, Penang, Tioman, Redang and parts of Sabah offer additional work in resorts, diving, food and beverage and guest services. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and Indigenous influences, and English is widely used in hotels and business. Lifestyle costs are generally moderate, although Kuala Lumpur and resort areas can be more expensive. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, with approval handled through Malaysian immigration authorities. Applicants should secure a written offer before relocating, confirm accommodation and benefits, check medical and document requirements, and research transport, healthcare and local living costs.
