Australia offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, restaurants, resorts, cafés and events, particularly in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and regional tourism destinations. The culture is generally relaxed, multicultural and practical, while workplaces value punctuality, teamwork, safety and customer service. Melbourne is known for food, coffee, arts, sport and diverse neighbourhoods, although rent and living costs can be high. Australia has an outdoor lifestyle, good public services and strong workplace protections, but distances are large and relocation costs should be planned carefully. Foreign applicants need an appropriate visa, such as a Working Holiday visa, employer-sponsored visa or another work-authorised pathway; requirements and age limits vary by nationality and occupation. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, tax, superannuation, accommodation and roster details directly with the employer. A tax file number and Australian bank account are normally needed after arrival.
