Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it is a popular Gulf destination with strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, aviation, retail and events. Dubai offers an international lifestyle, modern infrastructure, beaches, shopping, entertainment and a large expatriate community. The culture blends Emirati traditions with residents from around the world; modest dress and respect for local customs are important, especially during Ramadan. Summers are extremely hot, while winters are warm and suitable for outdoor activities. Most overseas hospitality employees receive employer-sponsored residence visas, work permits, medical checks and, depending on the package, accommodation or transport. Before relocating, confirm salary, housing, meals, insurance, working hours, leave and return-flight terms. Dubai living costs can be high, particularly for private accommodation, so staff housing and benefits are valuable.
