About the employer

Natra Bintan is a nature-focused resort on Bintan Island, Indonesia, operating under Marriott International’s Tribute Portfolio brand. The resort is known for its safari-style tented accommodation, beachfront setting, lagoon, recreational facilities, restaurants, and family-oriented activities. It caters to leisure travelers, families, corporate groups, and visitors from nearby Singapore and other regional markets. As part of Tribute Portfolio, the property combines an independent, destination-led character with Marriott’s international standards, systems, training, loyalty network, and service expectations. Hotel colleagues typically work in a multicultural environment and support guest experiences across accommodation, food and beverage, recreation, events, finance, and resort operations. The resort’s location offers an opportunity to build experience in an international hospitality business while living in a quieter island destination rather than a major Indonesian city.

Working in Indonesia

Bintan is a relaxed Indonesian island in the Riau Archipelago, easily reached by ferry from Singapore. Main employment opportunities are in resorts, restaurants, tourism, events, recreation, transport, retail, and supporting services; finance and operational hotel roles are particularly relevant for hospitality professionals. Local culture blends Malay traditions with broader Indonesian influences, and respectful dress, polite communication, and awareness of Muslim customs are appreciated. Lifestyle is quieter than Jakarta or Bali, with beaches, mangroves, seafood, outdoor activities, and a small-town pace, although imported goods and specialist services may cost more or be less available. Foreign employees must obtain employer sponsorship and the appropriate Indonesian work authorization, usually including a work-related limited-stay visa and permit process. A tourist visa cannot legally be used for employment. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, healthcare, insurance, tax, flights, and relocation support with the employer before accepting an offer.
