EY is seeking an R&D Tax Assistant Manager, Manager or Senior Manager in Dublin to advise companies on research and development tax credits and related incentives. Candidates should have strong experience in Irish corporate tax, R&D tax relief, tax advisory, accounting, engineering, science or a closely related field. The role involves assessing qualifying activities, preparing technical and financial submissions, managing client engagements, reviewing work, supporting business development and coaching junior team members. Strong analytical, writing, communication and project-management skills are expected, along with the ability to work confidently with senior clients and multidisciplinary teams. Relevant professional qualifications such as Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Adviser or an equivalent technical background would be advantageous.
EY, formerly Ernst & Young, is one of the world’s largest professional-services organisations and a member of the Big Four. It provides assurance, tax, consulting and strategy and transactions services to businesses, governments and entrepreneurs. EY Ireland has offices in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford, supporting clients across technology, financial services, life sciences, consumer products, manufacturing and the public sector. Its R&D Tax team helps companies identify qualifying innovation activities and claim available Irish tax incentives, combining tax, financial and technical expertise. EY offers structured professional development, international exposure and opportunities to work on complex client assignments. The firm places emphasis on integrity, collaboration, inclusion, innovation and helping clients manage growth, regulation and transformation.
Ireland offers strong opportunities in technology, pharmaceuticals, financial services, professional services, engineering and life sciences, with Dublin the main employment hub and Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford also attracting international employers. Irish workplace culture is generally collaborative, informal and relationship-focused, although professional-services roles can involve demanding deadlines. Lifestyle benefits include scenic coastlines, accessible countryside, lively music and social communities, and English as the primary working language. Dublin has higher rents and a competitive housing market; other cities may offer lower costs but fewer vacancies. EU, EEA and Swiss nationals can work without a visa. Non-EEA candidates normally need an employment permit, often supported by the employer, and must meet salary and occupation requirements. Before relocating, arrange accommodation, tax registration, a Personal Public Service number and appropriate health insurance.
