The Partner Acquisition Intern supports Grab’s efforts to identify, contact, and onboard new merchant or business partners in Indonesia. Typical requirements include current enrollment in a university program, strong communication and negotiation skills, Indonesian and English proficiency, confidence using spreadsheets or basic data tools, and the ability to work independently and meet targets. The candidate is expected to research potential partners, conduct outreach, explain Grab’s services, maintain accurate records, coordinate onboarding activities, and provide regular progress updates. A proactive, organized, commercially minded person who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and engaging with different businesses would be well suited to this role.
Grab is a Southeast Asian technology company operating across mobility, deliveries, digital payments, and financial services. Founded in Malaysia and headquartered in Singapore, it serves consumers, driver-partners, merchant-partners, and businesses across countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines. In Indonesia, Grab provides services such as ride-hailing, food and grocery delivery, package delivery, online payments, and digital financial products. Its platform connects users with independent drivers and local merchants while helping small and medium-sized businesses reach more customers. Grab promotes innovation, inclusion, and practical solutions for everyday needs. Employees and interns typically work in a collaborative, data-driven environment, supporting commercial growth, technology development, operations, and customer experience across a large and diverse regional market.
Indonesia is an archipelago with strong opportunities in technology, e-commerce, logistics, tourism, finance, manufacturing, and consumer businesses. Jakarta is the main corporate and technology hub, while Bali is popular for tourism, hospitality, remote work, and international communities. Bandung, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, and Batam also offer growing opportunities. Indonesian workplace culture generally values respect, relationship-building, teamwork, and adaptability; English is useful in multinational companies, while Bahasa Indonesia is essential for many local-facing roles. Lifestyle varies from busy metropolitan living to quieter island communities, with generally affordable food and transport but rising housing costs in central Jakarta and Bali. Foreign nationals normally need an appropriate work permit and limited-stay visa sponsored by an employer; tourist status does not authorize employment. Candidates should confirm current immigration rules, health insurance, housing, taxes, and relocation support before accepting an offer.
