This internship supports the Food and Beverage department with daily operations and administrative coordination. Typical duties may include preparing reports, organizing schedules, assisting with purchasing and inventory records, supporting restaurant and bar teams, updating procedures, and helping monitor guest-service standards. Candidates are generally expected to be studying hospitality, business, tourism, or a related subject and to have a genuine interest in luxury hotels and food and beverage operations. Good organization, attention to detail, communication skills, basic computer knowledge, and a service-minded attitude are important. English is normally required; Spanish or another language is advantageous. The successful candidate should be flexible, professional, willing to learn, and comfortable working varied shifts in a busy hotel environment.
SLS Barcelona is a luxury lifestyle hotel operated under the SLS brand, part of Ennismore, which is backed by Accor. The brand is known for bold design, high-energy restaurants and bars, creative entertainment, and highly personalized guest experiences. The Barcelona property combines accommodation with dining, social spaces, events, and wellness-oriented facilities, creating an environment that is both hospitality-focused and design-led. Employees work with international guests and multicultural teams while gaining exposure to premium hotel operations. SLS places strong emphasis on memorable service, distinctive experiences, teamwork, and attention to detail. As part of the wider Accor network, the hotel offers access to an internationally recognized hospitality group and potential career pathways across hotels, restaurants, and lifestyle brands. The position itself is based in Barcelona, Spain, rather than on one of Spain's islands.
Spain’s main island destinations include the Balearic Islands—Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca, and Formentera—and the Canary Islands, including Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura. Hospitality creates many opportunities in hotels, restaurants, resorts, events, guest relations, wellness, and seasonal tourism. The Balearics are known for Mediterranean food, beaches, nightlife, sailing, and a relaxed but busy summer culture. The Canaries offer year-round tourism, outdoor activities, volcanic landscapes, and generally mild weather. Rent can be high in popular areas, especially during summer, so staff accommodation or shared housing is worth investigating. EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens can work with the required registration. Non-EU nationals generally need a work permit or an appropriate visa before starting employment. Candidates should confirm contracts, accommodation, transport, healthcare, and local registration requirements before relocating.
