Working in United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the widest range of hospitality, tourism, retail, aviation and business jobs. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a large international community; modest dress in public areas, respect for religion and local customs, and professional courtesy are important. Dubai offers modern apartments, beaches, restaurants, shopping, nightlife and desert activities, although rent and transport can be expensive. Employers normally sponsor an employment visa, residence permit, medical checks and Emirates ID for eligible overseas hires. Do not work on a tourist visa. Relocation packages vary and may include accommodation, transport, flights, insurance or meals, so confirm the contract carefully. Salaries are generally tax-free for individuals, but living costs and probation terms should be reviewed before accepting an offer.
