The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai offering extensive opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, aviation and events. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a highly international lifestyle; modest dress and respect for local customs are expected, especially during Ramadan. Dubai provides modern housing, public transport, beaches, shopping and year-round entertainment, although summers are extremely hot and living costs can be high. Employers normally sponsor a work or internship visa after an offer, arrange medical checks and complete residency procedures; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Confirm whether the employer provides accommodation, transport, meals, insurance and visa support before relocating. Applicants should budget for deposits and initial expenses and verify contract terms, working hours and benefits in writing.
