The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest number of hospitality, tourism, retail, aviation and corporate opportunities. The country is highly international, and workplaces commonly use English alongside Arabic and other languages. Life is modern and convenient, with excellent transport, shopping, beaches, dining and entertainment, although housing and daily expenses can be high. The culture values hospitality, family, religion and respectful behavior; modest dress and sensitivity during Ramadan are important. Most foreign employees require an employment or internship visa sponsored by the organization. Employers usually arrange work permits and medical checks, while interns should confirm whether sponsorship, insurance, accommodation or transport is included. Relocating candidates should budget for deposits, documentation and temporary accommodation and verify all terms before travel.
