About the employer

Mercure is Accor’s midscale hotel brand, offering locally inspired hospitality with the consistency and support of a major international group. Mercure Bangkok Makkasan is located in Bangkok’s Makkasan area, with convenient access to public transport, business districts, shopping areas and the city’s main attractions. The hotel serves business travellers, leisure guests, groups and international visitors, with accommodation, dining and meeting facilities. As part of Accor, employees may benefit from structured training, global career opportunities, staff rates and an international working environment. The property’s sales team works across corporate, leisure, group and wholesale segments, helping the hotel grow room occupancy and overall revenue. The wholesale sales position is particularly focused on strengthening partnerships with travel intermediaries and expanding the hotel’s presence in important source markets.

Working in Thailand

Thailand offers strong hospitality, tourism, sales and resort-management opportunities, particularly in Bangkok, Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi, Pattaya and Chiang Mai. Island life is generally relaxed and social, with beautiful beaches, outdoor activities, seafood, markets and a welcoming local culture. Phuket and Koh Samui have the broadest range of international hotels and tourism jobs, while smaller islands offer a quieter lifestyle but fewer year-round opportunities. Living costs vary: accommodation and transport are usually higher in major resort areas than in mainland towns. Respect for Buddhist customs, modest dress at temples and polite communication are important. Foreign employees normally need a job offer, a Non-Immigrant B visa and a Thai work permit arranged with employer support; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Candidates should confirm health insurance, accommodation, relocation assistance, tax obligations and contract terms before moving. Thailand’s hot, humid climate and rainy season should also be considered.
